His Head gear has the number 7 and crossed sabers and the letter C. He has his Cavalry Sword. and he is wearing cavalry gloves. HE JOINED THE 1ST NY IN THE CIVIL WAR.AFTER THE LITTLE BIGN HORN HE SERVED IN THE 8TH CAV FIGHTING IN THE DAKOTA'S AND THEN IN ARIZONA IN THE GER0NIMO CAMPAIGN. IN 1890 THE 8TH CAVALRY WAS DISBANDED AND JOHN FITZGERALD REIRED AFTER 30 YEARS IN THE U.S MILITARY John Fitzgerald's Horse Broke Down and He ended up on Reno's Hill and survived the Battle Note see the WEB PAGE MEN WITH CUSTER HIS I.D. and photo is listed.
