Estate Find STEUBENVERRE de SOIESilken Glass A monumental Steuben trumpet vase, pattern number 2909, from the Frederic Carder period in iridescent Verre de Soie art glass.Verre de Soie, french for Silken Glass, was never marked. The vase measures 14 1/8" at its tallest, and 6" wide across the top. Blown glass with pontil at base. There are no chips, cracks, breaks or repairs to the vase.Frederick Carder (English, 1863-1963) directed the Steuben Glass Works, an American company founded in 1903. The vase dates from 1905-1920.
