Up for bid are for six (6) PRE-BAN, genuine Dalbergia Nigra / Brazilian rosewood, quarter-rift sawn cut, very unique book-match shorts with variegated tan/brown/darker chocolate heartwood with black spots. These old, seasoned material acquired from a craftsman estate out in the west coast that was in storage for over 40 plus years. This has variegated heartwood with wispy grain lines with unusual spotting dense example, has excellent tap tone immediate response/projection that is somewhere between glassy and metallic. Has signature aromatic that is sweet chocolate/rose/bubble gum mix. Please note that the heartwood color is variegated with the white sapwood clearly demarcated in white at the back side towards the outside corner. There are pin holes that can be easily filled with cyano/epoxy and there are very fine bandsaw kerf remnants- all are visible in the photo’s.Ideal for your limited run special edition knife scales or can be used for ukelele components such as bridge blanks/book-match headstock overlay/end grafts/neck heel caps, etc. I can only fit 12 photo’s- please message me if you need additional photo’s such as seeing what the end grain cut orientations looks like, etc..
