Originally purchased new in 1999 this Yamaha 4'11" Baby Grand Piano just arrived from a private home in pristine condition. The A1 is the finest small baby grand made, period. NO other manufactures have taken the time to build a small baby to the quality standards expected in the higher end. Traditionally in order to build a baby grand smaller they are just shortened which causes the shape to seem pudgy and bulky. or out of proportion. The A1 is totally redesigned so that the distance from the front of the keyboard to where the "curve' in the body is begins sooner thus giving a more "graceful" appearance. Height of the "rim" is also about an inch and a half less reducing "bulkiness". Do not confuse this piano with current GB1 or GA1 which are made inb China and totally different. The A1 is made in Japan and to the high standards of Yamaha's C series. New this piano sold for similar price of C1 and designed for the professional pianist that may not have the room for a larger instrument. Piano also comes with factory installed "Silent System which allows you to play silently with the use of headphones. Exterior is perfect and won't be able to be told apart from brand new . We go over every inch to be sure and scratches of imperfections are removed prior to shipping .
