2 Vintage / Antique COPPER Plates ARTS & CRAFTS Ye Boars Head + SHEPHERDESS Boat - $99 - (Stittsville, ON)
Two lovely decorative handcrafted arts and crafts (or Art Nouveau Jugendstil ) copper wall plates. No marks found but very much in the style of Newlyn or Keswick. Most likely English, dating c 1910. 1) Ye Boars Head with a wonderful wild pig head in the center with heavily crimped edges. This plate has an old solder repair on the back side. 2) Nice rolled piecrust edges surround a seascape (landscape) with a lovely scene of a shepherdess with her crook looking off to sea, with a small boat in the distance. Please see my other current listings for more antiques and collectibles as I am always happy to combine wins to save on postage costs.SIZE: Shepherdess plate measures 9.25” (23.5cm) diameter approx.CONDITION: old solder repair to the back of the Boars Head plate (not through to the front), some light scratches and the bottom edge is a bit bumpy.
