1960s Selmer "Signet Special" Clarinet w/ Original Case. Grenadilla Wood. - $125 - (Yellow Springs, OH)
Travel back in time with this vintage clarinet. Made by Selmer USA in Elkhart, Indiana sometime in the late 1960s, it's a Selmer Signet Special clarinet. Serial number 68,939. It is made of grenadilla wood, not plastic. Open hole. All the mechanisms and keyworks work. No cracks. The corking and pads are there, but are likely original, so it would benefit from a re-padding and re-corking. The corking second joint corking is thin, such that the bell is loose when attached. Selmer 3 mouthpiece with ligature in good shape. Because of the fine cosmetics and good structure, it is definitely worth refurbishing. It comes in the original Selmer case, which is in good and solid condition. If you do make an offer during business hours, please know that I typically respond to offers within the hour. Questions? It will be well packed with plenty of new 1/2" bubble wrap and shipped in a new stout cardboard instrument box.
