SELMER SIGNET OPEN HOLE FLUTE! COIN SILVER TUBE, B FOOT, GORGEOUS! MUST SEE!!! - $350 - (St. Charles, MO)
This auction is for a used Selmer Signet open hole flute! It has a B foot and inline G. On the body it is stamped "Coin Silver Tube". Even though the head joint is not stamped with any markings, my guess is that it is also solid silver. You can tell by the tenon (end) of the head joint..see pic 6. The tenon is still bright silver like the rest. A plated headjoint tenon would be discolored from the years of wear on that area. This is a vintage instrument that looks fantastic for being an older model flute. I'm not sure of the exact year, the model # is listed in the item specifics. There is only minor surface wear, no major dents. This flute plays very nicely with a pure and sweet sound. The pads are old and show heavy wear. See the up close and clear pictures of the pads I've included. As a player, I would say that this flute would sound optimal with a re-pad. A re-pad from a reputable shop should always come with a leveling and adjustment of keys. Comes in cases shown with tuning rod! This is a great opportunity to purchase a brand name, high quality upgraded flute at a fraction of the brand new retail price! A comparable model would cost upward of $1,599.99!
