Early English Sterling Silver Tankard Stokes & Ireland Chester England - $1,250 - (North Clarendon, VT)

Measures 3 3/4 inches high and weighs 283.2 grams. As far as I can figure out, it is Stokes & Ireland, sterling, Chester England and is circa 1840. Not 100% on date. Has a few dents as you can see in photos. Also looks to have a thin silver coating over the face of it around the inscription. I tried to capture in photo above inscription. Not sure what to make of it. Probably inscribed at a later date.
