For sale are three cuttings each of five varieties of muscadine grapes, for a total of 15 cuttings. These include Noble, Loomis, Southland, Summit and Cowart. Cuttings are 10-12 inches long and range in thickness of a pencil to 1/2 inch. These are recently harvest cutting in the past two weeks. You will get 3 cuttings for each variety. The varieties description are: Noble: purple grape self-fertile variety, medium size fruit with great quality and large clusters, ripens mid season. Loomis: Purble grape, female (needs pollinizer) high vigor, large clusters. Ripens mid-late season Southland: purple grape, self fertile, excellent taste, medium size, ripens late season. Summit: bronze grape, female, large size, possibly the sweetest variety of all, ripens mid season Cowart: purple grape, self fertile, medium size, mid season These were grown here in Texas where it gets very hot in the summer 100 degrees plus and all the muscadines grew fantastic. They are drought tolerant but during flowering and fruiting yields will be better with supplemental water during long dry periods. Growing instructions: Take the cuttings and dip the lower ends of the cuttings in a rooting hormone. Fill a small pot or tray with a high quality potting soil that is made with perlite and peat moss. Dig a hole with your finger or with a pencil in the center of the pot. Put the lower 2 or 3 inches of the cutting into the hole and then fill in the hole with potting soil. Water the soil and let the water drain from the soil. The soil should be kept moist but not wet so when it is watered, the water must be allowed to drain from the base of the pot. Put several sticks around the cutting and put a plastic bag on the twigs so that the cutting is in a plastic bag. This keeps the humidity high for the cutting, which is necessary for the cuttings to form roots. They should form roots in 6 weeks.
