Beautiful Vintage c.1922 Bacon Special Grand Concert Mandolin Banjo w/ OHSC - $739 - (Pensacola, FL)

Please see photos. Serial # 6791. Per online research,Serial # dates the instrument right about 1922. This is a beautiful Mandolin Banjo featuring carved heel,lovely inlays,f-hole resonator and Bacon quality throughout. Very well preserved and has 10 1/8" head so it could be considered for 5 string or Tenor conversion. As a Mandolin Banjo,it needs set up and a neck re-adjustment to improve current high action. Neck itself is straight but neck angle is forward. Cosmetically very nice with some surface play wear on the back side middle of neck. What seems to be original head is in good shape and signed at Lehigh University in 1927. College music ensembles were popular at the time and it would seem the lucky owner of this got himself one of the best instruments available. Comes in OHSC, very good condition.
