Don't let the name fool you, this Oak is quite adaptable to typical landscape conditions. A larger growing tree reaching 60 feet with a moderate growth rate. The tree matures into a broad spreading crown with masculine texture. As the tree matures the bark develops an attractive scaly appearance. Hardy USDA zones 3 through 8. Prefers acidic soils.
