For sale is a beautiful Turkish-made 21" Istanbul Mehmet 70s Nostalgia ride with two special-order, factory-installed rivets. It's a fairly light cymbal (2065 grams) with a controlled ping and a warm, complex, pleasing middle-pitched tone. Two removable rivets add a sustained sizzle. An amazingly dynamic sound, very crashable, and highly responsive to brushes. Great as a main or left ride for jazz, but it could also be used as a crash or for color in many other genres. (See soundfile info below.) As the photos illustrate, it's in very good shape. The perimeter has the typical handling patina of used cymbals. There's a small rectangle where some tape was once applied; the maker's signature is a little smudged. The front of the cymbal shows light wear; it has a very even and consistent light patina across the whole brilliant surface of the cymbal. It's not easy to describe a sound as dynamic as this. There's so much going on. You've got a fairly bright stick sound, a wash with a wide range of frequencies, giving way to a beautiful sizzle.
