Meteorite Jade as it is called in China is a product of ancient meteorite impact in Inner Mongolia (now China) to Liaoning which was the range of the Neolithic Culture there which produced this magnificent dzi bead. In such an impact a metamorphic shock transformation creates a product that is mixed composition of the meteorite magnetic iron & the native rock which it crashes into. Under such conditions, an impact is at least a velocity of 3000 mph when impact is made. Only under such great force & pressure causing melting can jadeite form. The only other natural processes on earth which can form jadeite is volcanism. A meteor impact simulates the heat & pressure of volcanic metamorphism so that a hybrid jadeite is thus formed which has magnetic properties of the original meteorite material.
