VINTAGE 1960s GO-KART "KART ARENA 1st PLACE" CAR RACING TROPHY LOT - $26 - (Wichita Falls, TX)
Offered here together are 2 different go-kart / go cart trophies. One has a wooden base. This one has a small metal tab that is engraved: "Kart Arena...1st Place." The second one has a base made of burgundy "marbleized" PLASTIC. (It is NOT Bakelite or Catalin.) This one does not have any engraving, or exterior markings. On the INSIDE of the burgundy base, is a sticker that reads: "GARLAND'S TROPHIES. 2409 ROSS AVENUE. DALLAS 1, TEXAS." This seems to have been made when the Post Office was still using the 2 digit "Postal Code" (1946 to 1964) Both trophies were picked up at the same sale, and I assume they are the same approximate age - circa early 1960's - give or take. The karts, attached to the trophies, are metal with a brass surface. Both are in EXCELLENT condition, with only minor wear. These trophies are guaranteed to be old & original, or your money back.
