RARE ANTIQUE STEIFF 1925-1935 BUTTON FELT & VELVETEEN MICKEY MOUSE ~ 15 1/2" - $5,000 - (Windham, ME)
This rare style of Mickey Mouse is in excellent condition with only minor wear to the outer seam on one arm, and the top of the boots are primitively stitched, but I think that is the way this was made. This has the button in the ear that is a bit flattened over the years so hard to photograph, but the last "F" comes under to the letter E so I have dated this to 1925-1935. The felt face is hand stitched, and for all I know the whole thing is hand stitched. I am not a Steiff expert. This measures 15 1/2" from the top of the head to the bottom not including the ears are a bit higher. Rare find!!
