1960s Benrus Belforte Model 12F 4B 25 Jewels Automatic Day/Date Movement TICKS! - $10 - (Cadiz, KY)

Your bid in this auction is for the pictured 1960s era Belforte by Benrus 25 Jewels full rotor Automatic with Day and Date indicator complications wristwatch movement!! This movement is presumably of Japanese origins as it is not marked with any country of origin that I can find and Belforte, Caravelle, Vantage- all of the big brands’ sub labels started to use German, French, and Japanese ebauches in the 1960s as competition with the Japanese increased greatly. This watch does have a good free swinging balance and DOES TICK! However, it’s got an issue when you set the time the day wheel seems to be “stuck” and turns as much as you set the watch, in unison with the minute or hour hand. The date indicator does turn over and quick sets by a quick set pusher that would be located at 1:00 or 2:00 side of the dial. If I didn’t know any better I’d say that this looks a lot like period Orient Watch Co. movement design. There is no dial and no hands- please note that one of the calendar wheels is discolored.
