This is the complete episode of "The Lights of Zetar" which first aired Jan 31, 1969 (Stardate 5725.3). This is an INTERPOSITIVE created by the studio from the ORIGINAL CAMERA negatives in 1983 and is in pristine condition This film had been in a lab storage locker until its discovery. Being an Interpositive or "MASTER POSITIVE" it does not have sound mated to it yet as later projected print films do. It is also truely a NEGATIVE (a positive negative) and is on NEGATIVE film base. NEGATIVE film is a lower contrast "orange" film that preserves superior color and image quality. This is partially the reason the film still looks as good as the original negatives from the 1960's. In the end, this film is as close to the original source material as is possible without having the actual camera negatives and it has all of the original special effects as they were intended (before remastering) This film has NEVER been projected (being a negative), so there are no scratches in the emulsion. It is complete and has ALL heads and tails - it is the PARAGON of STAR TREK Film. THIS FILM will without a doubt, be the LAST and BEST surviving film element of the original series for ALL YEARS TO COME! and is likely the only complete 35mm episode to be found in a lifetime. It is also the last remaining untouched footage as all of the original episodes were re-mastered with digital effects. In years to come it will stand as the only un-edited original 35mm complete episode in the hands of the collector. NOTE that the photos are of the actual film and are not color corrected or touched up - this is the quality of the actual physical film.
