Adopt Tiki a White Akita / Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog in Dixon, KY (24665787) - N.A. - (Dixon, KY)
Meet Tiki! Tiki was picked up by our local animal control officer at the Dotiki Mines here in Webster County on Friday. After cleaning up his wound and getting a better look at him, they immediately reached out to Molly's Mutts for help! A quick look over Tiki showed that he is extremely underweight (seeming to have no meat on his bones whatsoever), very dehydrated and hungry, absolutely flea infested, but he is filled with such a happy spirit! We got Tiki into our veterinarian ASAP, and he concluded that Tiki suffered some sort of trauma on his back left leg, about 2-3 weeks ago, that went untreated. The bones in the hock are broken, likely in many places, and the muscles in his left leg have completely atrophied. It seems that the best option for Tiki, for a speedy recovery and lowered chance of a spreading infection, is to amputate the leg.
