Ferdinand Strauss Santee Claus 1920s - $775 - (Danville, IL)

This piece has some repairs. The reins, bells, front wheel and Santee's arms are repairs. The mechanism works and the lithography is still sharp. In fact, I have another that is complete which isn't as fine but it's complete so I'm putting this one on the market. This toy will be celebrating its 100th birthday soon. Thank you for your consideration. P.S. The repairs can be improved- nothing I've done has compromised the piece. Also, I've seen this piece with both wire and string reins but I lean toward wire reins since I've seen one with wire through Sotheby's, New York 30 years ago. Thanx again!
