Restored Complete Antique Laboratory/Apothecary Metric Weight Set - $125 - (Smithsburg, MD)

Beautiful complete antique metric laboratory/apothecary weight set. Two metal labels acknowledge the A.S. Aloe Company of St. Louis, Missouri and Voland and Sons, Inc from New Rochelle, New York. Solid mahogany box contains 9 chromed solid brass weights, 12 metric fractionals and 5 grain weights. Box measures 5 1/2" long x 4 3/4" deep x 2 1/8" tall. Chromed weights are all marked and consist of 1 x 100 gram, 1 x 50 gram, 1 x 20 gram, 2 x 10 gram, 1 x 5 gram, 2 x 2 gram and 1 x 1 gram. Holes for larger weights are lined with a purple velvet. Fractionals are 500mg, 200mg, 2 x 100mg, 50mg, 20mg, 10mg, 2 x 5mg and 3 others. The grain weights are 12, 10, 5, 2 and 1/2. Glass cover over the mg and grain weights. Pair of tweezers to handle smaller weights. Box was refinished with several coats of MinWax Satin Varnish and hand polished with 0000 steel wool and paste wax.
