A Clapp Eastham Spark Gap Morse Code Key In Excellent Condition ...All Original - $525 - (Swansea, MA)
Normal 0 A Clapp Eastham Spark Gap Morse Code Key In Excellent Condition This is a Clapp Eastham Spark Key known as the Boston Key given its similarity to keys produced at the Boston Navy Yard circa 1915. Clapp was the most popular of the Boston Keys; the other similar design was produced by A W Bowman. Note in the photos the large size key contacts. This was to accommodate the amperage level required in spark gap transmitters. This key is built on a marble/granite base to give it stability with the weight. Some keys came with contact size choices for the current range required. This key is in excellent original condition and has a large, 0.320 inch diameter contact. The number seen on the base was a collector’s reference. While this is a hard to find collector’s key, I have three and it’s time to let one go. To this end, I'm making a significant reduction in the selling price. It is now $525.00, down from the original listing of $625.00. Shipping is free!
