This NAS has worked flawlessly for me as a home data storage NAS where I have kept all of my important pictures, home videos of my children, important documents, etc. These NAS give you your own cloud and they can act as a music server (Plex, Roon, Twonkymedia, etc.), you can use them for home surveillance camera recordings and a lot more. You can plug an e-SATA drive into the back of it to act as an external drive and easy way to take data off the NAS and take somewhere else . It has USB 3.0 ports and dual 1GB ethernet jacks which can be trunked together to give you simultaneous 2GB bandwidth to your router or switch if your router or switch supports that function. It has an HDMI port so you can connect it directly to a TV or monitor and use it as a media station. QNAP also has several apps in the Apple app store so an iPhone can interface with the NAS. QTS 4.3.4 is installed.
