3 Gal. Hand Turned Salt Glaze Crock with Stenciled Rose by C.W. Braun of Buffalo - $100 - (Abilene, KS)

For your consideration is a three gallon, hand turned salt glaze crock. It is a product of C.W. Braun of Buffalo, New York. This crock was decorated using a stencil. The stenciled on blue decoration consists of a likeness of a rose surrounded by a likeness of leaves; above the rose is a 3 in a wreath. On each side, is a large hand pulled applied handle. The height is 10 1/4" and the bottom has a diameter of 10 1/4". This crock is an old item that was used. At the end of one handle, going up to the rim, is a very tight hairline approximately 2 1/2" long. One handle has three chips and the other handle has one chip. The inner rim has a chip that a dime will cover and several smaller chips. There are stains everywhere, but especially on the front. In the interior, are several places where the ALBANY SLIP glaze is thin or missing. This crock needs to be properly cleaned.
