You are looking at... 1967 ZAP COMIX #11967 4.5 VG+ - Zap Comix #1 Signed by Charles Plymell (1st Printing - Plymell) Apex Novelties, 1967 - Only a handful of this historic first major Underground comic (1st PRINTING) ever show up, let alone one signed by the artist/writer himself! - Robert Crumb. Only copy on eBay I've seen to date signed by the man whose name appears on the back cover -- "Printed by Charles Plymell." - Charley Plymell is an American treasure, perhaps the last of the Beat Generation writers. Charley rubbed shoulders with Allen Ginsberg, Neal Cassidy, Bob Branaman and others back in the 1960s, after moving from Kansas to San Francisco in 1962. He's written many books of prose and poetry, and was a prolific small press publisher for decades. - In early 1968, he and Don Donahue convinced R. Crumb to let them publish his original comic book using Charley's old pre-World War II press located inside his Gough Street apartment, and the rest is Underground history! - This copy of Zap #1 was one that Charley gave to a friend, which was recently returned to him. He hand-signed the back cover, close to his printing credit. - This listing includes Three photos of Charley signing this copy, along with a signed print featuring an R. Crumb drawing are also included; the print is signed by Charles Plymell and numbered on the back, #51/200! - Robert Crumb stories, cover, and art. - Fogel's 2015 Underground Price & Grading Guide VG 4.0 value = $4,800. http://www.comicbookdb.com/issue.php?ID=60783https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?TID=22849831https://www.comics.org/issue/21551/ ALL SALES ARE FINALI am not a store…therefore do not ask me about RETURNS.
