Primitive Salt Glaze Antique/Vintage Jug~Wheel Thrown~Tan~Whiskey 11 inches tall about 7.5 inches wide I know nothing about this jug but that it was in my family before I was born (45+yrs) and given to my mom while visiting family in New Hampshire. The story is it came from Boston Harbor, but I am not saying that it did or didn't. It has no identifying marks and I have dabbled in pottery enough to know it was wheel thrown but this would not indicate its age you can see wire tool marks on the bottom from it being removed from the bat and other tool marks and ripples from the person working with it after the clay had dried a little to much. It is tan in color with a brown glaze inside the outside glaze looks to be a salt glaze. This is just from an novice potters observations I have not used it and it has been stored for years its time it went to someone who will appreciate it.
