Jaeger-LeCoultre ATMOS Classic Mantel Clock This is a rare Swiss made Mantel Clock purchased in 1958. It is an ATMOS Classic clock in fine running order. It was made by the reputable Jaeger-LeCoultre company in Le Sentier, Switzerland. This beautiful ATMOS clock has a wonderful fish design on sculpted white lucite panels! This clock was available with black or white panels, and this one has the white panels. The fish motif (aquarium) is one of four that were available for this model...others were Chinese landscape, Bees, and Three-master. You will be amazed at the quality of the artist Marina's 3-D sculpted panels that artistically display marine life...outstanding design and workmanship. Every marine designed clock is a unique creation! ATMOS clocks are clocks that run on air. The original design of the clock dates to the 1920's. The clock is powered by variations in temperature. Within a sealed capsule, a mixture of gasses expand and contract with each temperature change. Thus, the clock miraculously winds without human intervention. This clock is about 9 inches high and total dimensions are approximately 9" X 7" X 5." The clock comes with its original hard box case. The weight of the clock and its case is about 11 pounds, 4 ounces. The size of the case is 10" X 8 1/2" X 6." This rare item with case was purchased in Europe in 1958. The clock is in very good condition and runs well. The clock dial is white and the exterior case is made of brass. It shows a little wear with some spots on the brass, but the white lucite panels with 3-D art look to be in very good condition. The clock is being sold "As Is."
