Olan Jones 1972 84" Wooden Grandfather Clock , designed and handcrafted in Newark, Delaware by J. Olan Jones in 1972. It has been named by the craftsman "Grandfather Sooner the Better". It is 84" tall with a cherry wood Mason & Sullivan cabinet that has been handfinished with a broken swan pediment and original finial. The dial has a brass center, silver chapter ring, brass spandrels, brass analog time markers, sailing ship moon dial, and black fancy hands. It has a chain driven movement that plays Westminster, Whittington, and St. Michael's chimes on the quarter hour and sounds the hour. It has been recently serviced and works perfectly with a moving moon dial. There is a paper attached to the side of the clock by the original clockmaker that reads: THIS CLOCK IS "GRANDFATHER SOONER THE BETTER." Handcrafted by J.
