This Calabash Bottle Gourd is so unique. It is hand painted. The female figurine is wearing a bright pink, dress with yellow flowers. She has a pearl necklace and a light pink, bandana on her head. She is Approx. 7 3/4"T x 4 1/4"W. She is free standing and is attached to a small wood base. Made in Dominican Republic. The dried fruit is from Higuero. A Crescentia Cujete is commonly known as the Calabash bottle gourd tree. This species of flowering plant is native to Central, South America, West Indies and Southern Florida. The fruit is used to make small vessels for serving or drinking. In Cuba, the dried fruit is commonly used as a coffee cup by rural farmers.
