Samsung DVD-V8600 4-Head Hi-Fi Prog Scan Video Recorder/Player Not Working - $11 - (Merced, CA)
This is a 2005 Samsung Combo Video Cassette Recorder/Player and DVD Unit. Model is DVD-V8600. Please note the pictures showing scratches on the top of the device. No remote. I am not a technician but tested it and it came on but didn't play a VHS or DVD. Took it apart and cleaned DVD side. Cleaned the lense with rubbing alcohol. Red light comes on. At first the DVD wouldn't even spin but after I took it apart and cleaned it and the lense, it started spinning. However, it would not play. Just spun only. Got the VHS side to play, rewind, fast forward. However, after working on the DVD side I decided to test the VHS side again and it stopped working. It re-wound but when it would play, the tape would come out a ways and then it would stop and the tape would go back in the VHS so it didn't destroy the tape but it just quit. Hope I'm making sense! I don't know if someone who actually knows what they are doing could actually fix it or if it should just be for parts only. Thanks for looking!
