Schneider Tele-Xenar 200mm f5.5, 16 Blade Iris, Made 1954, Exakta Mt, EXC Glass - $70 - (Blairsville, GA)

Offered is a fine legacy telephoto lens, made in Germany about 1954. This Schneider-Kreuznach Tele-Xenar 200mm f5.5 pre-set lens has an Exakta / Topcon bayonet mount, a 16 blade diaphragm iris, and focus as close as 2 meters (6-1/2 ft). Tested on a crop sensor Pentax K3 DSLR using a combination of an Exakta/M42 and a M42/PK adapter. The photos in the listing were shot hand-held at f8. No post-processing was applied. Color is very saturated, sharpness is remarkable, contrast is high, and bokeh is super-smooth (thanks to those 16 blades). Condition: Excellent glass, with no scratches, no visible cleaning marks, no internal haze nor fungus, and hardly any internal dust. Focus is very smooth, and the same is true for diaphragm operation. There's no oil on the blades. This lens was purchased with a minty Topcon R and (according to the old fellow who sold it to me) was rarely used, with a filter on the front, and kept in its case between shots. Sold as shown: Lens, original metal threaded lens hood with built-in UV filter, threaded original Schneider logo front cap, Topcon rear cap, original felt-lined leather case. Note that the hood/filter unit can be reversed and threaded onto the front of the lens for storage, and the lens cap can then be threaded on as well. Unusual and thoughtful [German] design! We ship to USA addresses via parcel post or priority mail (whichever is less costly). To select other nations worldwide, we ship via uninsured first class post, or (at buyer's request) insured priority post. Buyers choosing first class post assume all risk for loss or damage. Payment is due at time of purchase. We ship 1 business day after your Paypal funds clear, and on the same day when possible. Sold with a 30-day performance warranty, honored if this lens is found not to be as described in the listing. We have nearly 50 years' experience with analog photo equipment ...
