20's US Made Strauss Big Show Circus Wagon Tin Wind Up Toy W/Lion, Tamer, Driver - $750 - (Fresno, CA)
This toy from the mid 1920's is in very good condition, especially given it's age. This has always been one of my favorite Strauss toys. This is one of 2 different Circus Wagon toys made. One had a stubby front end, and was about 2 inches shorter than this toy. The wind up motor on this toy works, and when wound the Lion makes lunging moves toward the Tamer. This causes the Tamer to lean back out of reach, then lean forward and conk the Lion on the head. As you can tell from the pictures provided, the toy is a bit dusty, and could use some gentle cleaning. The only other real issue that I've noticed is some missing paint on top. There are some light scratches here and there, and some play wear. For the most part however, the tin litho's still retain their original glossy shine. This is a nice sized toy, measuring approximately 11 inches in length, 5 inches in width, and 7 inches in height...
