AO No. 501 Spencer Camera Lucida This is a classic antique microscope accessory manufactured by American Optical in the first half of the 20th century. It is designed to allow projection of a microscopic image onto a work surface so that observed structures can be accurately sketched. This specimen appears to have never been used. The silvering on the mirror is like new and all surfaces appear to be free from any wear.An absolutely classic example of the camera lucida, once widely used for scientific documentation.
