EDDIE CALVERT (1922-1978) He was billed "the Man with the golden trumpet" by British TV orchestra leader Stanley Black. His version of "Oh My Papa" (1954) stayed #1 on the UK pop charts for 9 weeks, a record at the time, and became the first instrumental to sell 1 million copies there. He had another UK #1 hit, "Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White", the following year. He performed the film score for The Man with the Golden Arm (1955). Bold ink signature on a vintage album page.
