The drum was custom made in 2000 and the original head has finally split open. There are many tutorials for do it yourself Ashiko drum head replacement on the internet. Head skins cost as little as $8 and as much as $30. You can even buy new skins here at ebay. There are several hand drum companies who offer Ashiko drum head replacement as a routine service. The original hoops and fresh rope are included with this listing. This drum is 23" tall and the head is approximately 12" in diameter.
