This is nice mason bee house filled with approximately 150 empty reeds to get a colony of mason bees started.We use natural nesting reeds we hand harvest and cut to 5" to 6" inch lengths to fit in all our houses.Mason bees prefer these reeds over any other nesting material and naturally breath to prevent mold problems if they get wet. These reeds have have an hard outer protection to prevent parasitic wasps from drilling through the sides and killing all the mason bee cocoons developing inside of the reeds.These reeds are easy to pop open with a knife to harvest your cocoons,unlike super hard bamboo which is very hard to open. Paper mason bee tubes can't prevent the parasitic wasps and you could lose all your next years bees.
