A small unseamed coin silver beaker, by William Moulton IV, Newburyport, MA. - $449 - (Marietta, GA)
A plain coin beaker with curved sides and reeded foot, William Moulton IV (b)1772-(d)1861. In generally good condition. A few slight dings and scratches, commensurate with age and function. Also a few black smudges due to impurities during the construction. There is also a presentation inscription, in script: LS from HCMS 1836. The best aspect of this beaker is its construction. It is hand raised with a pontil mark, not seamed as usual. Its a long and arduous process, only achieved by an accomplished silversmith. Hence rare. Dimensions: 3.2” high, 2.8” diameter. Weight: 3.7 Troy oz.Please make sure to study all my pictures before bidding. Most items are antique and have signs of wear and tear.
