Scarce Vintage 1960s XAM 5D EJ Korvette SEAS Speakers 1-Way 7" Midrange - $150 - (Kalamazoo, MI)
This item is a vintage (circa 1960s) pair of XAM (possibly manufactured by SEAS for EJ Korvette stores) one-way single cone speakers. Model 5D. The cones appear to likely be 7" mid-ranges, yet this is uncertain as the 5D is the smaller full-range model that XAM manufactured that used an 8" driver with a whizzer cone. The speakers are fully untested yet are assumed to be fully-functional as they were connected to a fully-functioning XAM Mark II T solid state stereo amplifier in a collector's household. In clean and decent cosmetic condition exhibiting definite wear including staining to the exterior cabinets, a significant dent or gouge to the right rear of one speaker and a small dent or gouge to rear right side of one speaker and a dual gouge to the front bottom, some corner dings and old paper label residue to the rear of both. The rear bare-wire speaker wire connectors are all intact. Both front fabric grilles are intact without holes, tears or rips. A previous owner must have removed the rear panel of one speaker and replaced it in the wrong configuration at some point since the back air vents don't align the same way when the front panels of the speakers are aligned properly (labels straight). The speakers measure approximately 6" by 14-1/4" by 14-1/4".
