CHADBURNS-LIVERPOOL LONDON STEAMSHIP Telegraph Brass Controller works - $500 - (Saranac Lake, NY)
Up for sale is this Chadburns steamship engine telegraph unit.It is made of brass and stands nearly 20" tall.One face is black, with white lettering and red STOP.The other side is black with white lettering on one half and red lettering on the other half.Both handles work and sound their chime at each speed indicator.There is an access panel on the red lettered side of the stand, for wire access.The inside of the base has two carved insignias on it. I cannot figure out what they are, but I think it is either a manufacture hallmark or an indicator of the vessel it was on. Now, on each handle, there is a brass ring that is loose. I think it needs to be glued in place on the face of each side. The brass will need to be cleaned if you want the newer shine, or left as is for a nice maritime collectible.
