dyed N.C. long leaf pine needles for basket making 1 lb. red and blue . These are last years needles. N.C. has a long history of basket making due to the abundance of long leaf pine needles. I used to make pine needle baskets and occasionally liked to add color with dyed needles or raffia. Although the needles have been rinsed several times, there is always the possibility of the wet needles bleeding some dye. I always worked with a towel over my lap or in old jeans. I would also suggest sealing your finished work.
