HP-35 LED Scientific Calculator w/ Soft Case, AC Adapter & Manual - Parts/Repair - $125 - (Minoa, NY)
My dad and I painted a house for $300 and I spent $250 of that on this calculator in July 1974, the summer between my freshman and sophomore years of college. I was a computer science major and I just HAD to have this calculator!! Turns out I never really needed all of the power it brought to the table (at the time), but I definitely had the best toy that year at UB. Anyway, it's been in my closet for the past 44 years. Amazingly it still works. The power switch is a bit finicky (if you push down on it the calculator will turn off - and sometimes it doesn't turn on until you fiddle a bit with the switch, but it does power up. The 3 cell battery leaked long ago, although I still have it (will send it if you want it). Replacement battery packs are available online for about $10. The biggest flaw is that one of the LED segments no longer illuminates - see photo - 4th position from the left. As such, I have to sell this as "parts only" or "for repairs". I'm sending the soft (leather?) case with fully functional zipper as well as the original paperwork (user's guide mostly) that came with it, along with the A/C adapter - model 82002A. The adapter has an 8 foot+ cord. The calculator was made in the USA - the A/C adapter in Singapore. Note: The adapter has a switch that lets you choose input voltage: to the left is 86 to 127 volts, to the right is 172 to 254 volts. Condition: cosmetically, it's in pretty good clean condition. If you look closely inside the battery compartment, you'll see where I have used an engraving tool to block out my social security number (remember when it was safe to put that on things you owned?).
