This is a new, rare, out of the box, Virginia Metal Crafters cast aluminum garden/field rabbit which has never been used. He is part of the Williamsburg "Reserve Collection". This rabbit is adapted from a pair of cast iron hares found in the collections of the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum. In the late 19th century, rabbits became popular subjects for decorative lawn ornaments and appeared in a variety of poses. Virginia Metalcrafters is no longer in business and so many of their garden items have become very scarce, thus rare. We are moving and I need to clear out my garden items - most of which are from Virginia Metalcrafters. This rabbit is in mint condition. He is verdi green in color and can be used either indoors or outdoors as a garden ornament as he is waterproof. He measures 12" tall, 11 1/2" long and 5" wide. His original Williamsburg tag/information is included with this rabbit (see pictures). He is waiting to hop on over to your home today.
