Art Deco Thompson Engineering Postal Scale Modern Transfer Vintage Advertising - $30 - (Albany, OR)

Vintage Thompson Engineering Postal scale that looks like a rocket. The top unscrews to allow a spring loaded post to pop up. The top is turned over and place on the post creating a scale surface. It stands 3" tall when closed, 4 1/4" tall when converted to a scale, and weighs up to 8 ounces. On the underside are Postal rates, 3 cents for !st class and 6 cents for airmail. The front bears the name of a trucking company of the time, Modern Transfer Co., Inc., Allentown, Pa.. Very Art Deco in design and works great. Shipping is to the 48 states only and is 8.00.
