Original Deco Era Bookends (1925)Pompeian Bronze Company: Meditation From one of the early century's most collectible makers of bookends: Pompeian Bronze Company; (collectible and sought after). Beautiful copper and color (almost pearlized) details. Collector's book lists these as "gray metal," though the effect is of copper with very nice subtle sheen. Evoking a classical theme. Nice weight/heft for holding back book weight - almost a surprise given size. Size - 5.25" high x 3 7/8" wide x 2" deep Face with figure is in quite good condition. Back as well as small base has some surface pitting which doesn't seem too much a distraction. Still, consult photos. They are the best indicator of what's being offered here and are considered part of the description. Collector's book also rates this pair as "Scarcity 4" (out of 5 being the most rare). Will be shipped in USPS Flat-Rate Medium Priority box to keep costs down no matter where you live in the country - especially given the weight of bookends.
