* * * RETAILED BY D. C. JACCARD & CO., ST. LOUIS, MO. * * * For sale is an antique solid sterling silver aspic jelly server in the ARMOR pattern (introduced in 1871) by the Whiting Manufacturing Co. This rare server is 8-5/8" long and weighs 52 grams. Fully hallmarked with the Whiting mark, PAT. APPL. FOR and STERLING. Of special note is the retailer's mark of D. C. JACCARD & CO.; founded by D. Constant Jaccard circa 1864 - 1873. This permits us to date this server between a 2 year period of 1871 - 1873. This aspic jelly server is in very good used condition given its' age. Yes, there is a hand engraved monogram, which is typical for this time period.
