Antique 1875 Winged Griffon ‘Arabesque’ Sterling Silver by Whiting for J. Kern - $35 - (Shelbyville, KY)

This listing is for an unusual and awesome sterling silver teaspoon with a winged griffon holding an oval medallion. The oval medallion has a monogram in it that I thinks says HJ but the H also looks like an M. The tea spoon is well marked with Sterling and a lion and a W in a circle. This mark is for Whiting Company. It says Jos. Kern who I assume is the person or store the spoons were made for. It also says pat. 1875. The spoon is 5.5" long and weighs 16 grams. There are a few scratches that would be expected at this age. I have 10 available. Please email with any questions.
