Rare Pair of 1930's Hungarian Cermaic Figuines Atrributed to Maria H. Rahmer - $295 - (Santa Barbara, CA)
This pair of 1930's Hungarian Ceramic Figurines are enchanting. They are executed to perfection from the studio of Maria Rahmer. They are stamped Hungary on the bottom and the letter "M" appears on the bottom of the male figurine. These figures were executed in Budapest in the early 1930's. They are on the larger side - each standing just about 10 inches tall. The glaze and muted coloration are superb as well as the facial expression and exquisite details on each figure. The shoes, the basket of flowers, the posture, and the sculptural weight exhibited by each figure add up a high level of craftsmanship. They look great exhibited in any direction. We had them facing each other. They are being offered from our Deco collection for the very first time.
