Antique Wooden Clarinet, HAWKES & SON, LONDON, circa 1923 EXCELSIOR SONOROUS CLASS HAWKES & SON DENMAN STREET PICCADILLY CIRCUS LONDON 4785 Clarinet is in relatively good vintage condition. The Upper and Lower Joints are both in good condition with no cracks and no visible defects to the keys/mechanism. Pads are also in good shape, tenon corks are fine with the joints fitting nicely together. There are two barrels between Upper Joint and Mouthpiece. The joint between barrels is a bit loose due to cracks in both of them. Given the barrels are restored or tightened with external fittings, the clarinet is in potentially good playing order. There is no reed and ligature. Mouthpiece might not be original, has no insignia, although looks pretty old, probably from the same period as clarinet itself. Bell is not original, made of black plastic and has an unclear, painted over, insignia "Henkin USA" (1970/80's Henkin USA plastic clarinet outfit). Total length is 65 cm.
