Antique circa 1895 France, Eastlake style oak picture frame, hand carved - $275 - (Bellingham, WA)

This frame was made in eastern France or western Germany around 1895, and brought by my maternal grandfather to the US from Alsace just after WWI. It is in overall excellent condition. The corners are still tightly mitered; it isn't in the slightest "loose" to the touch. The gold portion of the frame, as you can see, appears tarnished; to my eye, at least, that doesn't detract from the frame's beauty. There are very minor scratches on the right vertical of the frame, which are shown in the last of the photos. They very likely can be removed with a bit of matching stain and 0000 steel wool. The scratches are not at all deep; they're superficial. Overall, the frame could do with a good cleaning. The overall dimensions of the frame are 14.75 by 22.75 inches. The viewable area is 8.25 inches by 16 inches. The depth of the frame is one inch. Please let me know if you would like additional photographs or information; I am happy to help!
