The dish is hallmarked on the top and has a dedication engraving on the back. The engraving reads “Mike from your shop C.S.G. December, 1973”. The dish measures approximately 10 inches in diameter, 1-1/4 inches tall and weighs approximately 677 grams. Other than some light scratches, this sterling silver Armada dish is in very good condition (see photos). This is called an Armada dish because the original dish of this design was reputedly made from silver taken from Drake's Spanish Armada in 1588, during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I.
