Serial number 5393, probably made in the 1950's. Antoine Courtois, a 150-year-old company famous for their high quality brass instruments, sold saxophones made to their quality standards and stenciled with their name for several decades in the mid 20th century. This one was probably made by Beaugnier and shows fine workmanship. These good French saxophones are noted for their beautiful, sweet sound. SUPERB, extra-clean and straight example that wears 95% original silver plate finish. Note the unique key guards and details on this interesting saxophone. Never dented or dinged, now with 100% new pads and corks. The original silver plating is 95% or better, with just one small worn spot on the bottom bow (see photo). Straight and clean example with hand engraving to the bell and bottom bow. The key pearls are still sharp, the hinge-tubes still "like new". Never any "pull-down" to the neck, the bottom bow never damaged. Price includes mouthpiece and good used Protec shaped hard case. RARE, good player, top recommendation! $1595.
